Many different themed events are being promoted for the upcoming New Years Eve celebrations in Birmingham. These can be found on Facebook, Instagram and all over the Internet. However, a particular theme seems to be appearing...the Roaring 20's.

The year 2020 will mark the beginning of a new decade on the Gregorian calendar.

The party seekers will be pleased to know the annual fireworks display in Centenary Square should be returning for the night after it was cancelled last year due to the redevelopment programme along Broad Street.
Fortunately, for those seeking a more alcohol-infused night of celebrations, there will be no shortage of options because the events are endless.

Tickets for this 20's themed event at The Pumphouse Gym are costing £5

Event organisers are referencing 'peaky blinders' for the dress codes which isn't surprising as the hit BBC show starring Cillian Murphy is set in 1920's Birmingham.

The 1920's, also known as the 'Roaring Twenties', was known for extravagant parties and prosperity.
The year 2020 will mark 100 years since the 1920's and this could be why the era is so prominent in popular culture today.
