The Labour Party is putting forward a carbon-neutral policy to be introduced by 2030. This will include insulation upgrades for every home in the UK and enough new solar panels to cover 22,000 football pitches.

The party has made the pledge to improve climate conditions sooner than the government's target to create a net-zero carbon economy by 2050.
Labour's green promise comes just under a week after a global environmental movement, Extinction Rebellion, caused a stir throughout the capital last weekend to oppose the ban on the group.
Leader of the party, Jeremy Corbyn, took to twitter to comment:
"Labour don’t just have the most ambitious climate targets in the world - we’re the only party turning our targets into detailed, credible plans to tackle the climate and environmental crisis." Jeremy Corbyn, Leader of the Labour Party
Rebecca Long Bailey MP, Labour’s Shadow Business, Industrial and Energy Secretary, said the plan will begin Labour's Green Industrial Revolution. She went on to say:
"The recommendations in this report could put the UK on track for a zero-carbon energy system during the 2030's, but only if rapid progress is made early on. The next five years are therefore crucial."
